Perfect World Games Moves into Mobile Markets Four Titles Announced
Perfect World Games, the mega-successful publisher of hits like Star Trek: Online and Torchlight II has announced that they are throwing their hat into the mobile ring with four announced games from four different developers.
The news was announced this morning by way of a press release that was picked up by The Wall Street Journal and then spread across the web, being picked up by multiple gaming sites. In the press release via WSJ.com Perfect World Games implied that the games will be free to play saying “Perfect World is willing to take a risk on studios [and] helping these studios grow their free-to-play expertise.”
The games and studios that will now fall under the Perfect World Games Banner are:
– Elemental Kingdoms, a Trading Card Game by Chinese based iFree Studios (no information yet available, although iFree has developed both Android/iOS games and iOS exclusive games)
– The Null Society, an Action RPG by Agent Disco, reportedly based in San Francisco (No website could be found for Agent Disco, nor any additional information on The Null Society)
– Bombbuds, a 2D strategy game in the same vein as Worms by Seattle based Fugazo Games (currently only announced for iOS)
– Arena of Heroes an asynchronous tactical MOBA game by Seattle based Sneaky Games (currently in BETA on PC, Mac and iOS, coming soon to OUYA and Android)
While the games are going to be free to play, Perfect World Games does say that the games will be aimed at hardcore gamers, calling them “core games” and stating that they would be “for gamers, by gamers.”
Out of all the games announced, we know the most about Arena of Heroes, which is currently in its second close BETA, and is the only one confirmed to be coming to Android devices.
